SQUID-COMM proposes colossal-squid-inspired distributed communications framework

SQUID-COMM introduces a communications architecture inspired by signalling, coordination, and self-organization mechanisms observed in colossal squid. The framework includes adaptive signalling, decentralized routing, synchronization, and congestion-management concepts.

Although still at the research stage, it stands out because it directly translates biological communication mechanisms into engineering designs for resilient distributed networks. Several reported performance gains suggest possible future applications in autonomous and edge-network environments.
