AURA Foresight has demonstrated an autonomous wildfire system in which fixed sensors, AI and a drone swarm form a distributed detect-verify-respond chain.
During XPRIZE testing in the Alaskan wilderness, the system monitored hundreds of square kilometres, automatically identified potential ignitions, dispatched aerial robots carrying thermal and optical sensors to verify them, and coordinated a swarm response within the competition’s ten-minute detection window. The architecture combines persistent stationary sensing with mobile agents that are dynamically committed only after the network identifies something requiring closer investigation.
