DARS 2026 puts genuinely distributed robotics at the centre of its programme

One of the principal international meetings devoted specifically to distributed autonomous robotics takes place in Tokyo from 26 to 29 October 2026.

The eighteenth International Symposium on Distributed Autonomous Robotic Systems brings together research on swarm intelligence, collective perception, decentralised task allocation, cooperative exploration and bio-inspired control. Its published programme includes autonomous multi-drone search and rescue, decentralised wildfire suppression, communication-free robot task allocation, distributed environmental sensing and self-assembling robotic systems. Particularly relevant presentations address sparse communication, local consensus, robot cooperation under uncertainty and coordination without shared global planning.
